Target Audience.
Our target audience
are teenagers as seeming as we are in our teenage years our self it would make
it easier to make a video for them –we know what teenagers look for in a video
and what they would like and dislike.
Even though our
video is aimed at more of an indie-pop audience and most people in our group
are more into dance music and rap, we still feel confident that we will be able
to make a music video to their taste. In order to achieve this we have looked
at many music videos that are similar to the one we are shooting and using them
for inspiration. In addition to this we have used Todorov’s theory of Narrative
to make our video more interesting as well as giving them a scenes of
familiarity as everyone has seen a music video with a story line or even a
film.
Institution – Marketing ideas
In order for our
music video to be successful we would need to have good advertising for it and
a good send off. We’ve decided that our music video would be mentioned on
www.indiepopradio.co.uk, www.mixcloud.com/tag/indie-pop/ and www.play.fm/style/electroindiepop. All of the sites are viewed by many indie-pop listeners.
In addition to this
we would do a lot of guerrilla marketing – simply sticking stickers, around
Camden lock and other popular areas, that have the url to the video on them. This
would attract more people to our video and therefore more views making our
video a success.
